so i've been seeing auction listings on ebay and american memorabilia and other sites for what they say are "used wardrobe items" from films. items i've seen are alan alda's shirt from M.A.S.H. and michael imperioli's shirt from the Sopranos and jerseys from the original Bad News Bears.
they all have a stamp on the inner collar labeled "COSTUME COLLECTION" and there is some sort of certificate of authenticity stating that a company, i think it's called "hollywood movie props," was bought out a few years ago.

does anyone know anything about this company?
is this "COSTUME COLLECTION" for real?
i've collected sports stuff for years, but am new to movie props and wardrobe.

I'd like to bid on some of these items, but how do i know these are for real?

thanks.

I don't know anything about them personally. Upon quick look they did appear ok in some auctions I remember. As always if something is not labeled don't assume its from a given production or used by a given person.
