A few years ago I bought a full sized mugwump from the film Naked Lunch from a guy I worked with who had made the molds and cast them for the film. It is cast entirely of poly-foam with a single layer of latex which was brushed into the mold first. The years have not been kind to my poor mugwump though I'm afraid and as his latex skin continues to break down he is losing his beautiful paint job, becoming brittle and losing detail. Is there a way to abate this process or to stop it all together? I have kept it out of direct sunlight and heat, try to keep my hands (and any other oil) off of it but latex will do what latex does. Anyone with any suggestions for what I could coat it with (without ruining the airbrush job) to curb its degredation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot folks.
