Hi Everyone- I am brand new to this forum, and I'm wondering if anyone can give me advice on a prop I'm considering buying. It is a panel from the Death Star in the Original Star Wars. There are four such panels on sale from ScreenUsed.com. This would be a huge purchase for me, and my question is 1) Has anyone had any first hand experience with ScreenUsed, and how reliable are they in regards to authenticity? ...and 2) what should I be looking for as far as proof or provenance? Any advice much appreciated... Thanks!

I haven't bought from them but I have asked them about some items.
They seem reliable and Death Star trench screen used pieces are about the most readily available screen used Star Wars props.
I know some Star Wars trench pieces have been replicated as solid casts but I think Screenused is reliable.
One way I go about verifying the authenticity of a seller is to look for items they have that I can verify. It helps me if I have issues with lesser pieces I may be buying from them.
Look at their collection I would suggest. I think they are reliable but you still have to decide that for yourself.
They do guarantee things I believe. You could ask them who they got it from and when and then ask someone at a site like http://theswca.com/collectors.html what they think.

Good advice... thanks much.

I would trust them implicitly. They turn down a lot of props that don't have decent history/provenance. You have no worries with SU, they are pros IMHO.
